Yesterday, at genius hour time I turned on my computer and go to open my warrior blender, it loads and then the computer dies on me :( so I had to do the work after school, also last time I had genius hour, I thought that i had saved it, when I got home and opened blender, it was where it was two days ago. That really annoyed me, so I just redid it and played around with blender for a bit after school at home. I really need to figure out the painting for wednesday to make it look better than just a mesh and give it some colour and shading. I can make an animation after I'm done painting the mesh, which shouldn't take too long once i figure it out and after give it a skeleton and weight paint it.
I finally brought my laptop yesterday and worked on my genius hour YAY! I finished the arms and legs, so I need to start painting my character (not the kind of painting you’re thinking about). After painting It, I can give it a skeleton, which isn’t easy if you don’t know what you’re doing. After making the bones, I will need to weight paint it, so when I do the animations, they will look smooth moving. Making the character itself is easy, painting, making a skeleton, and animating is a lot harder. My character for animating, as you may know if you read my other blogs is a warrior, but I decided that it should be an animal so I made it a penguin warrior. It actually doesn’t look too bad. I just need to start painting it tomorrow and I should have nice flowing progress. I hope that I have no troubles making the skeleton and weight painting and animating, worst comes to worst is that I need to redo the skeleton at home.
I have nothing to blog about so I can't really blog because I couldn't bring my computer on Wednesday. L I will see if I can't go home on Friday and work on it extra after school. L - Sorry.
Welcome to another gh reflection! This week, so far I have made even further progress in making the warrior. I have the other characters sort of started (I made a little bit of them like the head). I was playing around in Blender a little bit yesterday, so I didn't get as far as I wished that I could have gotten, but nevertheless I still made progress, progress is fine by me if it means one step closer to the finished project. J I just need to keep on truckin' and believe that we can do it and finish the game. For me, that would be a big feat because I've always been interested in what's behind a video game and wanted to see what it is like to make one ever since I started playing games when I was a little kid, so it would mean a lot to me and I would feel very proud of myself.
